There're a many number of website monitoring tools, but one of them sticks out rather well, and has prompted this young webmaster to write up a complimentary review to praise such a relatively new service. I am of course speaking of Status Cake. This new service offers a range of network tools from monitoring uptime, SMS notifications, and performing technical tests on a single web page. Yes, this service is by far the most appealing, and simplest to use monitoring tool I've ever utilized for my websites. Let's dig a little into the features, and explore why I've chosen this remarkable service, and why you should too. Simplicity is an understatement. From adding websites, to setting up notifications, everything is straight forward. Webmasters can add a single website, or use the bulk insertion tool to add multiple websites on the fly with the same settings and configuration. It's so easy, you could have your kids do it while you manage your websites worry free.

Notifications of Status Cake include Email, and SMS messages. If you have a Noti, Boxcar, Pushover, or Skype account, you can receive notifications to those as well. You're not limited, select them all and know that you're receiving Live Updates no matter where you are. When your website's down, you can even have Status Cake ping a URL you specify, a very simple, yet powerful feature. Automated reboot anyone? The features don't stop there. If you run a web hosting company, you can have Status Cake monitor your website(s)' uptimes, and even display a clean widget on a status page, so your clients can see your service uptimes as well. Don't want your clients to see a specific server's uptime? Disable public reporting on a per-server basis. By default, public reporting is turned off, but you can always enable it from the easy-to-use control panel provided by Status Cake. Take my word for it, you won't be disappointed. They take every request into consideration, and your feature request just might end up on the next update. My requests were Server / Location Groups and Server Sorting Capabilities.
